Hi, I’m Niva…

And I’ve been teaching English to students all over the world since 2010! In the last few years, since starting my own language teaching business and focusing on creating my own dream life, my hope and dream has been to help as many people as possible learn English in a way that feels good for them, so that they’re able to go out and live the lives that they want too!

When I’m not teaching my fabulous students or creating learning content, I’m exploring a more nomadic way of life, seeing the world and experiencing what it has to offer while also following my passions of snowboarding, pottery, nature and food.

More about me…

 

I happened to fall into becoming a full time English language teacher when I returned back to London in 2010 after 3 years of living, studying and travelling abroad. Back then, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do career-wise, so I took a summer job at a language school in central London with the intention of just working there for that summer. 12 years later and teaching English as a foreign language is my profession and also my passion!

I realised quite early on into my teaching career that while I enjoyed teaching things like grammar and vocabulary, my main joy was seeing my students progress and take steps towards doing the things that English could help them do, like passing the IELTS exam with a score they needed so that they could study at the university of their dreams, or getting the job promotion that they knew would change their life. But it wasn’t just their English language progression that I loved seeing, it was the change in them as individuals that was so fabulous to witness. It was like watching a little caterpillar emerge as a beautiful butterfly, shy and uncertain when I first met them to confident and capable by the time they were ready to fly off to their next new adventure.

For the last few years I’ve been exploring a life of teaching online, while also travelling to different parts of the UK and also the world, managing to combine 2 of my passions in life, teaching English and travel.

Sometimes learning a language by yourself is not enough, you need an English language teacher to guide you.
